Ada Barlatt, has a PHD in Industrial Operations Engineering and is the Founder and Chief Data Scientist of OperationsAlly. Ada gained years of experience optimizing bus scheduling at Walt Disney World and is now applying her expertise to the world of email! As a consultant at her own firm, Ada focuses on how companies can use email to improve their launch results.
One thing that April and Ada wholeheartedly agree on is that email marketing is both an art and a science. Ada enjoys combining her command of data analytics with empathy to create successful email strategies for her clients. Ada says her ideal clients are companies in the midst of launching something that want to understand which parts of their email strategy are working and where there is opportunity for change and growth. Ada often finds that her role requires her to be a translator– understanding the “techie” data and communicating it to her clients that may not be as familiar with data science. Her critical role as a “translator” enables her clients to make data driven decisions without having to get a PHD in Industrial Operations Engineering first!
April and Ada switch gears towards the end of the episode to discuss which brands, both B2C and B2B, really hit it out of the park when it comes to email marketing. With Ada’s mind for data and marketing, she appreciates parts of email programs that may go unnoticed by the average recipient.
