Here at SparkPost we take the needs of large volume senders seriously. We send over 37% of the world’s B2C email and 5 trillion messages a year. We understand the challenges large volume senders face, especially when it comes to managing hundreds of IP addresses. It takes a considerable amount of expertise, resources, and time to manage IP reputation. Additionally, IP portability poses further challenges and complexities — it’s incredibly arduous and potentially risky to transition from an existing in-house or on-prem solution.

Introducing BYOIP: Bring Your Own IP

You may have heard the old adage “You can’t take it with you”, but with SparkPost’s new offering for large senders, Bring Your Own IP, or BYOIP, that’s no longer true. You can simply bring over your own /24 CIDR block, a contiguous block of 256 IP addresses, and allow SparkPost to route messages through them.

Benefits of BYOIP

If you’re a large sender, you’ll appreciate how BYOIP gives you complete control over your IP reputation and reduces the complexity and risk of changes to your infrastructure.

You’ll decrease the time required to transition from your in-house systems or an existing messaging provider to SparkPost. Your developers won’t have to split traffic between two different locations or spend time manually watching and changing how and when traffic is split during the traditional IP warm-up period.

Additionally, BYOIP removes the risks associated with introducing new IPs. It enables you to deliver a seamless and safe transition for your customers without worrying that ISPs will treat you like a new sender. BYOIP ensures your deliverability, inboxing, and customer satisfaction will not be impacted due to introducing new IPs.

The bottom-line is that BYOIP means you’re in charge. After transitioning to SparkPost with BYOIP, you retain full control of your reputation and your IPs. With our BYOIP offering:

  • You’ll continue to own your branded hostname, have full control of your PTR record, and maintain the option to whitelabel.
  • Any IPs that are part of our BYOIP offering remain dedicated to your account and cannot be reassigned to a different customer’s account.
  • You have full control over which IP Pools the BYOIP IPs belong in.
  • You have the option to purchase additional SparkPost IPs and maintain full control over your IP pools. You can assign your BYOIP IPs and SparkPost IPs as you see fit.

So what are you waiting for? If you’re a large volume sender in either the US or EU, this feature is available now. Learn more and check out our FAQs, or reach out directly if you are ready to talk.

Happy sending!
