I think we can all agree, there’s no better way to unwind from a long Monday than by slurping down a glass of rosé and watching no less than 2 hours of Instagram influencers vying for the attention of a man who is as handsome as he is boring (don’t @ me!). If you have literally no idea what I’m talking about, then let me introduce you to a phenomenon called “Bachelor Monday” a weekly relaxation ritual that keeps me centered, grounded, and acutely aware of how many young women are named Serena. As a person who bravely straddles the worlds of email geekdom and Bachelor Nation I can tell you that both communities share a level of fanaticism and enthusiasm that is unparalleled. So, what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by combining the romance of The Bachelor with the power of email?
Unlike last year, when we “gave roses” out to our favorite email influencers, this year we’re doling out roses to the email trends we’re most excited about. While there were many contenders, these 3 email trends really stole our hearts and made us say “I can see myself falling in love with you” after only knowing them for 3 hours:
BIMI, will you accept this rose?
We’d like to give BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) our first impression rose. Why? Because BIMI, enables brands to establish a great first impression directly from the inbox. This authentication standard allows recipients to see senders’ logos in their inbox, giving folks a sense of security even before they open a message. Unlike the Bachelor franchise, where contestants time and again ask each other to be more vulnerable, we value email innovations like BIMI that make email less vulnerable. So far, we feel very secure in our relationship with BIMI.
Dark mode compatible templates, will you accept this rose?
A huge part of finding love is compatibility, which is why we’re going absolutely gaga for dark mode compatible templates. Dark mode, aka light-on-dark color scheme is a huge trend across all interface types (not just email). Brands that create and use dark mode compatible email templates show not only that they’re “with-it” but also compatible with recipients that are early adopters of technology trends.
AMP for Email, will you accept this rose?
Our last rose goes to AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) for email which allows brands to create and send interactive emails. We fell head over heels for AMP in 2019 when we were one of the first email senders to enable it in our platform. Since then we’ve created tons of helpful content for those that are interested in implementing AMP in their own email programs. We fell hard and fast for this email innovation and we hope you grow to love it just as much as we do.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
